David R. Wittwer
Chief Executive Officer
Dave Robert Wittwer has over 20 years of active-duty experience in United States Special Operations, upholding a standard and long tradition of developing high-performance teams. He is highly skilled at recruiting, assessing, working with, and training individuals from diverse backgrounds, being responsible for the instruction of hundreds of soldiers during his deployments to the Middle East and Asia. His extensive experience in planning and conducting difficult missions in austere environments, in the US and foreign countries, is brought to Venture Security Group and applied to planning and executing security service operations for VSG clients. He was a member of President Obamas motorcade and Close-Action-Team (CAT) during travel to Southeast Asia 2009-2015 and is considered a leading expert in unconventional warfare (UW), foreign internal defense (FID), special reconnaissance (SA/SO), direct action (DA), counter terrorism (CT), counter drug (CD) and civil affairs (CA) missions. David has extensive experience in building successful start-up companies, valuing cross-training, competent expertise, and versatile leadership. His current mission is to apply the principles and intuition gained from Special Forces combat experience to VSG operations and provide the best solutions for those who seek assistance in alleviating related concerns. David is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in Tagalog and holds dozens of certifications pertaining to risk mitigation and tactical protection methods.
Brian Johnson
President
Brian Johnson is an Army Green Beret who has spent over a decade with the United States Army Special Forces. He has completed numerous deployments, participating in special forces initiatives in several countries across multiple continents. His areas of expertise include Direct Action (DA), Special Reconnaissance (SR), Unconventional Warfare (UW), Foreign Internal Defense (FID), and Civil Affairs Operations (CA). Throughout this tenure, Brian trained over 1,000 foreigner soldiers in tactics and operations, overcoming language barriers and other obstacles to successfully manage and instruct dozens to hundreds of men at a time. During one deployment, he personally assisted in directing operations for Lebanon’s Special Forces Schoolhouse, working alongside the host nation’s General for the duration of his deployment. During his career, he has served on details protecting the Director of the CIA, a 2-Man detail protecting Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, and protected several State Department personnel, Cabinet members, and Ambassadors. As President and Cofounder of Venture Security Group, Brian combines the skills gained during his time in the military and those gained through civilian life to develop procedures and methods to suit the needs of each client. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and is proficient in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish.
Kraig Kalby
Chief Operations Officer
Kraig Kalby served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years and spent the majority of his career in Special Operations. He served as a Force Reconnaissance Marine and as a Raider within the Marine Special Operations Command retiring as a Senior Enlisted SOF Leader. While serving his country throughout the Global War on Terrorist campaign, Kraig completed eight combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as trained a multitude of host nation forces throughout the middle east and Southeast Asia. He has extensive knowledge in personal protection, threat mitigation, and operational planning. Since retirement, Kraig has worked in small business providing his talents as a Chief Operating Officer for startups and small private companies as well as assisting in providing services to Department of Defense projects and activities. Kraig’s career is supported by a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, successful attendance at multiple military leadership schools, and recognition for top performance as the Marine Special Operations Command’s 2016 Marine Raider of the Year. He is currently enrolled in the University of South Florida Executive MBA program.
Company Culture and Practices
Commitment
Venture Security Group maintains a strong commitment to our mission, fostering a company culture that adheres to the principles of honesty and integrity. This begins with our leadership team and informs VSG's hiring practices, internal operations, and company policies.
Agents and analysts are subjected to full background checks, full-scope interviews conducted by leadership, and required to submit extensive documentation regarding their qualifications, industry experience, and relevant skills. For advanced positions, we require personnel to have significant background in law enforcement or military service, and we conduct due diligence investigations into such tenures to ensure we are only hiring the best possible candidates.

Competence
During the onboarding process, VSG agents- regardless of prior experience- are required to undergo various training courses and must meet certain benchmarks before being cleared for duty. Agents are trained on company policies, practices, and standards of skill. This includes courses and examination in ethical practices, firearm handling and regulations, diversity & inclusion policies, and various other curricula.
All armed guards are licensed, insured, and undergo at least 40 hours of range instruction in addition to their prior relevant experience. Private investigators are subjected to the same coursework with additional instruction specific to regulations pertaining to private investigators and intelligence professionals.
